This piece expresses the spiritualism and animism inherent in Ojibwe culture. Besides the Ojibwe man wearing an Ojibwe style headpiece (fur turban) it incorporates the animal symbols of the various clans of the tribe. 

It symbolizes in its wholeness how man and animal are integrated in nature.
